I am Assistant Professor of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering at Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico City, Mexico). I received a BSc in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico City, Mexico), an MSc in Image Processing and Artificial Intelligence from IMT Atlantique (Brest, France) and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Warwick (Coventry, United Kingdom).

I served as Director of the Biomedical Engineering Undergraduate Program and Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico City) from 2004 to 2011 and from 2012 to 2014, respectively.

My research interests span the fields of digital healthcare and biomechatronics, involving wearable sensing for physiological and behavioural monitoring, analysis and modelling of biomedical signals and systems, and artificial intelligence in healthcare, as well as the analysis of human motion. My research has been published in top-ranked academic journals.

I have served as a peer-reviewer for academic journals such as Biomedical Signal Processing and Control, IEEE Access, IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, Health and Technology, and Journal of Medical Internet Research.

I am a member of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society and IEEE Signal Processing Society.
